Overview

Ms. Hernández’s practice focuses mainly on product liability in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry and mass tort litigation. She has played an integral part in representing individuals injured as a result of contaminated and defective talcum powder products, such as Johnson & Johnson talcum powder. Ms. Hernandez also represents individuals injured by negligent pharmaceutical design or manufacturing, such as Zantac cases, Tenofovir cases, Proton Pump Inhibitor cases, both in the MDL’s and state coordinated proceedings in New Jersey, Delaware, Florida and California.

She also provides mentorship as part of NS PR’s internship programs, by working alongside law students from Inter American University School of Law and providing guidance in their real-world experience in a law firm setting.

Joelys obtained her J.D. from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Law in 2008 and began her career as an attorney representing individuals injured at work, primarily handling workers’ compensation cases and Social Security Disability cases. Later on, she joined a personal injury law firm in Puerto Rico handling mostly individual tort claims. She most recently began her mass torts practice in 2020, and has been a part of NS PR  team since 2021.
