Overview

Marisa Font is an Associate Attorney in the Environmental Litigation Department in the Puerto Rico office. She is an experienced, bilingual (English/Spanish), environmental attorney with an LL.M. in environmental law from Vermont Law School, who is licensed to practice across multiple jurisdictions including Florida, Puerto Rico, Massachusetts, and the US District Court for Puerto Rico.

She has had broad exposure across environmental, administrative, special education, and estate law. She has experience in mass tort, environmental-impact, contract, and estate litigation, as well as environmental regulatory processes such as conducting on-site assessments to ensure compliance, contributing to drafting of amendments to state environmental regulations, reviewing and analyzing environmental impacts from proposed projects.

She has served as counsel in litigation focused on soil, air, and water contamination from hazardous substances such as PFAS and lead. She also served as part of the legal team that successfully opposed the construction of a massive natural gas pipeline across Puerto Rico, protecting communities and the environment from significant risks.

Marisa currently serves as counsel in the lead contamination litigation against Gopher Resource in Tampa, FL, representing former and current employees, their family members, and nearby residents affected by the facility’s lead emissions.

Ms. Font brings a dynamic, hands-on, client-centered, and solution-driven approach to environmental litigation and regulatory policy. She is a meticulous, outcome-driven professional dedicated to delivering the highest quality work. With a strong foundation in both state and federal law, Marisa is committed to advancing environmental justice and effective legal advocacy.
